As a long-term Human Resources and Leadership specialist I was often asked for help or guidance from colleagues, friends, peers, family members, neighbours etc. The ask was always around how they could navigate a situation either as a manager or the team member.
The managers didnā€™t have the experience or the toolkit to lean on and were mostly learning on the go. The employees were being impacted significantly by their managers, some positively but a lot negatively, and wanted to know how to manage it without any negative consequences.
When I sat back and reflected on this, I realised most managers are flung into their roles with no training or guidance and expected to be successful. The small to medium size organisations donā€™t have large departments of learning specialists and need support to bring their managers up to speed.
I wanted to help and started the path to create Manager IQ. We are passionate about supporting businesses to enable their managers success. We do this via learning programs, bespoke community, coaching and consulting services.
Managers can make the largest impact on a business as they can successfully translate the business strategy into action, while keeping teams engaged, productive and well. No easy feat.
